Faceted Red Beryl Gemstone from the Ruby Violet Mine, Wah Wah Mountains, Utah

rdbrylgem

No, this isn't a tourmaline, spinel, or ruby. It's much more rare than any of those gemstones. Shown above is an exquisite faceted red beryl from the Ruby Violet Mine of south-western Utah. There have been recent finds of pink beryl in Madagascar, but the clarity and depth of color of that beryl is in no way comparable to the material mined in Utah. Red beryl gemstones from the Ruby Violet Mine are simply breathtaking. Americans should be proud to be the home of such a rare and gorgeous creation of nature. (Gemstone faceted by Tina Nielson)
