While in Tucson several years ago I bought a flat of amethyst crystals from Uruguay. These aren't rare, but they are pretty and very reasonably priced. The amethyst from Uruguay tends to be a darker purple color than the amethyst from Brazil. For that reason it is priced slightly higher than is the amethyst from Brazil. (#M222: $20.00 Sold)
