Wulfenite is lead molybdate, PbMoO4, a soft mineral (Mohs' hardness 3.0) that forms colorless to deep reddish-orange blade-shaped crystals. Both Mexico and the the United States (Arizona) have metal mines that produce beautiful wulfenite crystals as a byproduct. The San Francisco Mine in Sonora, Mexico, has produced many fine wulfenite mineral specimens. Shown above is a beautiful little thumbnail-sized specimen of wulfentite of a fine golden orange color. It takes the form of a thin blade with a fine druse of flattened wulfenite crystals on the lower portion. Please excuse the slightly over-posed photo of this specimen; it is truly beautiful. The termination of the large crystal is undamaged. #M280, is priced at $17.50 Sold
