Madagascar is a country rich in gem and mineral deposits. One area of the country produces large geodes that are lined with beautiful light blue slenite crystals of excellent clarity. Shown above is a fragment of one such geode. Perched on a matrix of small selenite crystals is one exceptionally large and very clear selenite point. This specimen was purchased as a source of faceting rough, but it would make a fine cabinet specimen. The large crystal point is slightly "bruised" on the termination, but it is still a very fine piece. (#M299, $30.00)
