Show here is a gorgeous matrix specimen of red beryl from the Ruby Violet Mine in the Wah Wah Mountains of Utah. This is a great specimen with three individual hexagonal-shaped crystals clinging to the rhyolite matrix. The crystal color is the fine raspberry-red of the finest red beryl specimens. The overall dimensions of the rhyolite are ~2" x 1" x 0.5". To learn more about this world-renowned gem locality, consult our web pages on the Wah Wah mines. Currently, the red beryl mines in the Wah Wahs are inactive and fine mineral specimens like that shown above are becoming increasingly scarce. (#M483, $75.00) |
