Show here is a beautiful matrix specimen of red beryl from the Ruby Violet Mine in the Wah Wah Mountains of Utah. This is a nicely terminated hexagonal-shaped crystal about one-half inch long. There is a natural facture coursing across the top third of the crystal. The beryl above this fracture appears as a lighter shade of red. This crystal is unrepaired. You see it just as nature left it for us. The rhyolite matrix measues ~ 2" x 0.5" x 0.5". To learn more about this world-renowned gem locality, consult our web pages on the Wah Wah mines. Currently, the red beryl mines in the Wah Wahs are inactive and fine mineral specimens like that shown above are becoming increasingly scarce. (#M486, $275.00)
